Museum of Domestic Design and Architecture MoDA

Based at Middlesex University in London, this museum holds the Silver Studio collection, collections of wallpapers and architectural reference material. The museum presents talks and tours on the theme of interior design Exhibitions in 2001 included Decoration on the Home 1900 to 1960 and The Silver Studio Then and Now . A Design Practice at work. There are also study days on specific themes around design and research facilities.

The Silver Studio Collection is the archive of the commercial design practice established by Arthur Silver a fabric designer. The Silver Studio was responsible for some of the most characteristic and successful fabric designs for Liberty and Co, including the famous Peacock Feathers design Ianthe. When Arthur Silver died in 1898 his son Rex Silver took over and was responsible for some of the designs for Libertys Cymric and Tudric ware. Fabric designs were also produced for the company by Harry Napper.
